The American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association, Inc. (APSNA), operator of APSNA.org, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected from members and visitors to our website.

  • Choices available to members regarding use and disclosure of their information.

  • Member rights to access, correct, or update their information.

  • APSNA’s pledge to maintain reasonable security measures to protect against loss, misuse, or alteration of data.


Information We Collect

1. Personally Identifiable Information

APSNA only collects information that visitors voluntarily provide (e.g., name, address, email, phone number, professional degree). This may occur through emails, registration forms, or professional profiles. APSNA may use this information to send members updates, partner opportunities, and other communications of interest.

2. Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We may collect non-personal data such as:

  • Cookies – used to recognize returning visitors and track site traffic trends.

  • Referrers, IP addresses, and environmental variables – such as browser type, operating system, access times, and pages visited.

This helps us tailor content and improve user experience.

3. Photos

Conference or event photos may be collected and shared.

  • APSNAConnect and online forums are public to other members; posting personal information is at your own discretion.

  • APSNA may disclose information if required by law or to protect the organization or its members.

APSNA.org may link to external websites; APSNA is not responsible for their privacy practices.


Choices & Member Rights

  • Members will be notified of changes to this policy via email and/or website updates.

  • Members may opt in or out of communications (newsletters, forums, vendor emails, etc.).

  • Members may review or correct their personal data by emailing info@apsna.org.

  • Browser settings can restrict cookies, though this may affect site functionality.


Security

APSNA employs reasonable precautions to safeguard member data from unauthorized access or misuse. Questions may be directed to info@apsna.org.


Member Directory

  • Available upon request with a stated rationale and payment of an administrative fee.

  • Includes member name and address only.

  • Use of the directory for third-party distribution or commercial purposes is prohibited and may result in termination of membership.


Member Profiles

All profiles are set to private by default. Members may choose to make their profiles public.
