Foster WOCN Grant
The purpose of the Foster Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOCN) Grant is to assist members of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association (APSNA) to further their professional education and expertise in the area of wound and ostomy care.
The amount of the monies awarded to recipients of the WOCN award will be based on the balance of the fund at the time of the award selection. The award amount will be approximately 4% of the balance of the fund, an amount recommended by APSNA’s Certified Financial Planner. This is a conservative and standard amount typically withdrawn from investment funds, which does not place the fund at financial risk. The amount awarded from year to year will likely vary based on the performance of the WOCN funds.
Currently the amount awarded for the Fosters Grant is: $2,000.00

"I am so appreciative for this grant as it helped me to finish my Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) nursing program earlier this year. I attended the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP) at Rutgers University, Camden campus and had an excellent learning experience. For anyone even remotely interested in the specialty, I would highly recommend becoming a WOC nurse. With the knowledge gained in a WOC nursing education program, we are better able to provide the expert and comprehensive care our surgical patients need."
