2026 Annual Conference Abstracts

We are seeking five, 30-minute presentations to build out the Trauma Pre-Conference. Topics considered:

• Advances and innovations in pediatric surgical trauma education
• Trauma team activation and the role of surgical nurses
• Trauma-informed surgical nursing care for children and families
• Preparing families for emergent surgical interventions
• Addressing non-accidental trauma (child abuse) from a surgical nursing perspective
• Nursing-driven quality improvement initiatives in pediatric trauma surgery
• Case Scenarios

We are seeking seven, 60-minute general sessions, to be provided at various times, Thursday and Friday of the conference. These sessions are intended to be 60 minutes in total, inclusive of Q&A.

We are seeking five, 45-minute general sessions, to be provided over the course of the conference. These sessions are intended to be 45 minutes in total, inclusive of Q&A/discussion.

We are seeking four, 30-minute round table presentations to provide on Thursday afternoon during the conference; topics such as (PeriOperative, Chestwall, Trauma)

A poster presentation provides a mechanism that facilitates brief communications between the presenter and many of his/her current and future colleagues, allowing for a greater participation of all attendees. A poster is an illustrated summary of the key points about a project/case study/evidence-based project/research. Poster presentations provide an opportunity for researchers to showcase their work, receive feedback from and network with other nurse colleagues.

One primary author should be identified along with all additional co-authors. The primary author submits the poster abstract with the full consent of all co-authors. The primary author will be the contact person for all correspondence and the one invited to present the poster at the event.

All authors in attendance must register for the full conference, be available during poster display hours at the event, and are responsible for covering their own hotel, travel and other related expenses.

Easels will be provided for all poster presenters. The poster should stand alone and not require any audio-visual or technological needs. For specific guidelines to follow when developing your poster, please review our Poster Presenter Guidelines.
