2024 Spotlight Award Winner (Q4)

Marissa Capogna is a Nurse Practitioner who works in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Brooklyn NY and she joined APSNA immediately after joining the team. Prior to joining the Pediatric Surgery division she spent countless hours taking care of pediatric surgical patients in the neonatal intensive care unit at the same institution. She has experience taking care of the gastrostomy and ostomy patient on the inpatient side and continues the care on the outpatient side now.

Miss Capogna is a strong advocate for the pediatric surgical patient and their families and her commitment to the population speaks volumes. Since joining APSNA, she has been an active member of the Nomination Committee. During that time, she has been very instrumental in the outreach to members regarding potential APSNA Board positions
