Thank you for your interest in presenting at our upcoming
18th Annual American Pediatric Nurses Association meeting
May 25-28, 2009 in Puerto Rico.
Please direct any questions to Program chair Jenny Kreiss at email@example.com. Main presentations should be 50-55 minutes in length; breakout sessions are 45 minutes in length. Poster abstract presentations and verbal abstract presentations will vary in length from 6-15 minutes as individually discussed with the presenters. All presenters (maximum of two per presentation) need to complete
1. ANCC Bio form (attached below)
2. ANCC educational data form (attached below).
The Bio form and the educational design forms for posters and short oral abstracts are due no later than January 20, 2009.
Poster and short oral presenters please contact Claire Abrajano, poster coordinator for specific poster criteria and deadlines at: mailto: firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for submitting presentation materials for main program speakers is March 23, 2009. Presentation materials should be sent to Jenny Kreiss at email@example.com. All submissions must be submitted electronically. Hand written forms will not be accepted. The presentation should be clearly identified as a main presentation with title and speaker credentials.
Presenters should submit material for the conference syllabus by March 23, 2009 to Ronelle Caskey via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send material in either PowerPoint or Microsoft Word files (no PDFs) so that it may be edited as needed. Poster and verbal abstracts should be formatted in Verdana or Arial 12pt font, single spaced text. Content may not exceed one double sided page for poster and verbal abstracts and 10 double sided pages for main presentations. Material submitted late after the March 23rd deadline is not guaranteed to be included in the conference syllabus. Speakers will be responsible for any cost that may ensue for necessary handouts that are not included in the syllabus. There will be no paper syllabus in 2009. The syllabus will be distributed on compact disc to conference registrants on-site. Contact Ronelle by email (above) or phone 206-987-1031 for any syllabus-related questions.
PowerPoint presentations can be either Office 2003 or Office 2007. A copy of the presentation should be sent to Clara Lindley, our audio-visual director, at clindley@UFL.edu by April 13, 2009. This will ensure a smooth transition between presentations and help to avoid any "glitches” with your presentation. Any questions or concerns about AV materials please contact clindley@UFL.edu
It should be noted that main conference speakers will receive an honorarium of $500 per hour offered at the end of their presentation, pro-rated for presentations of less than one hour. Short oral presenters will not receive an honorarium. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer any discounts for speakers regarding any expenses accrued to attend the conference. This includes, but is not limited to, conference fees, travel expenses and resort expenses.
Once again, thank you for your interest in speaking at our upcoming conference. We are honored and excited to hear about your practice. In order for us to continue to offer a quality conference we ask you to adhere to the deadlines stated above. If the deadlines are not met, we may consider replacing the presentation.
Please note presenters are gently reminded to dress professionally on stage. Jeans and revealing clothing are discouraged.
