  • Summary of your goals for the position:
My time on the APSNA Board was marked by an explosion of resources for our members. The entire board worked tirelessly to bring to our members new benefits and easier access to existing resources through our listserve and website. Our annual meeting has continued to grow in length and breadth, offering content that appeals to an even broader audience than ever before. As President, I would hope to continue that momentum. APSNA is about its members. The Board represents our members and acts on their behalf. If given the opportunity to serve on the Board again as President, I would like to explore ways to enhance the link between our members and their Board representatives. The pediatric surgical nurse is somewhat of a generalist in a specialty practice. We draw from a variety of disciplines and subspecialties to help define our practice and best serve our patients and their families. To that end, we must find ways to more actively pursue opportunities to enrich our organization and increase both clinical and professional resources for our members. Partnering with other professional organizations is one means to that end and can contribute to our growth and theirs. The APSNA President increasingly plays a pivotal road in promoting organizational growth. If given the opportunity I will work closely with our Board and our Members to help establish goals and identify opportunities for growth and continue viability of our organization.
