

The Founders Award was created in 1999 to honor the vision and accomplishments of APSNA's founding nurses. The intent of the award is to honor an individual's significant contribution to the advancement of the care of pediatric surgical patients. The Award is presented each year at the annual APSNA conference.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Nominees for the APSNA Founders Award must be APSNA members in good standing with the organization.
- An APSNA member may be nominated by a professional peer for a range of outstanding activities and contributions to the health and well being of pediatric surgical patients.
- The activities for which an individual may be nominated may include but are not limited to clinical expertise, research, authorship, mentorship, teaching, program development or professional leadership.
