St. Jude Children's Research Hospital currently has an opening for a Pediatric Oncology Nurse, Nursing-Surgical Services / Operating Room (Job Number 17552).
The Pediatric Oncology Nurse in the Nursing-Surgical Services Department is the primary care coordinator of interdisciplinary patient care activities and is responsible for the management of patients throughout their continuum of care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Responsible and accountable for high quality patient care through implementation of the nursing process including assessment of patient needs (physical, psychosocial, educational), design of a collaborative plan of care, implementation of the plan with appropriate delegation of tasks, coordination of team effort, and evaluation of patient progress towards outcomes. Acts as a patient / family advocate, she / he seeks opportunities to communicate and coordinate patient care activities throughout the continuum in collaboration with other members of the Health Care Team. Responsibilities also include circulating duties for a wide variety of surgical specialties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:15pm, On-call 2 weeks out of 6 weeks
Requirements:
- Graduation from a school of nursing required.
- RN required.
- BSN preferred.
- Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing preferred but not required.
- 2 years of circulating experience preferred.
- Scrubbing experience preferred.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
- Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
